Registration will be April 2 - May 7.
Track is the most watched sport in the summer Olympics, so most people are at least somewhat familiar with it. But there is a lot more to it than many realize. There are more than 20 events athletes can compete in, and include sprints, middle distance, long distance, throwing, jumping, vaulting, and hurdling. Because the Thunderbolts is not affiliated with any school, we are unable to compete in AHSAA or other high school sanctioned events. Thus, our season starts in late spring, when the high school season is coming to a close. We compete in USATF and AAU sanctioned meets from late May to early August. In these meets, the athletes will compete in their age divisions, broken down in 1 and 2 year age groups, based on the child's year of birth. Most of these are qualifying meets leading up to the National Jr. Olympics, giving our athletes a chance to compete against others from all over the country. Each year we have a great majority of our athletes qualify to go to the Region Championships, and even Nationals. Below you will find our tentative meet schedule, searchable calendar, and events by age division.
Practice times are TBA and will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at Heardmont Park Track. Please join our facebook page Bolts XC & Track to get live updates.
